A MAC experience

I've only ever bought two "designer" make-up products in my 25 year lifetime - Mac Face & Body Foundation (which gives a full but light coverage, and has lasted me AGES) and YSL Touche Eclat (the mummy of all concealers) - so I'm quite proud that, so far, I've bought "designer" products worth the pricey investment. But I'm a High Street girl at heart and much more comfortable getting my make-up from Boots than Harvey Nichols. This was, until, I'd had my hair done at Saks in Leeds (only because I'd managed to get my hands on a 50% off cut and blowdry voucher)..and, after speaking to my hair stylist about what make-up she used as her skin looked amazing, I hot-footed it over to Harvey Nics..

I decided I wanted a good base and powder, so I spoke to a very friendly member of staff to get "matched up" (as they called it) and, after disclosing my skin type and the girl trying different shades on my jawline, I was diagnosed with Studio Sculpt SPF 15 foundation in shade NW15 and Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium.

In order to get the full effect, the girl sugggested she take off the make-up I was wearing and she'd apply the products... now, it's one thing going make-up free, but I was very aware of the fact that not only her, but the VERY busy customer-fuelled counter would be in full view of my far-from-flawless bare skin. Luckily, the base is easy to apply and blend so she was done in no time, and I was so impressed with the results that I went all out and bought this blusher - Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul - (below), too!

To some, MAC and the like is standard make-up buying procedure but, for me, I still feel guilty spending so much! If the products are anything like my two previous investments they'll last me a hell of a long time so I know they'll be worth the price tag and, I have to admit, I'm super happy with the results they give.
